ANIME FIELD NOTES
Re:Zero
Quick notes for reviewing a match. This page is shorter than our expanded study guides.
Subaru reaches an unfamiliar world without the understanding or security he expects from a fresh start. His attempts to help other people repeatedly expose the limits of his perspective. The story's unusual relationship to consequences makes personal knowledge an important part of the drama.
What to notice
Study who has experienced or learned a fact, not simply whether the audience has seen it. Character names, affiliations and repeated situations can look familiar while their immediate context differs.
Keep these straight
- Subaru's knowledge is not automatically shared by his companions.
- Read the exact situation when a prompt resembles an earlier event.
- The franchise's Japanese title and common shortened English name refer to the same series here.
